For over 15 years JP has served both individual and corporate clients throughout California in an increasingly diverse practice, including wrongful termination and discrimination/harassment claims, wage & hour/consumer protection class actions, advise & counsel to corporate clients, legal malpractice, contract and business disputes, pharmaceutical product liability, personal injury matters including elder abuse, and appellate work.
However, for more than a decade JP has primarily specialized in plaintiff-side employment litigation and advise & counsel for corporate clients, though JP has continued to handle a wide variety of litigation matters up to and including trial or arbitration. This diverse set of experiences, including representing both plaintiffs and defendants, provides JP with a good perspective on where liability may lie and how to avoid it.
JP uses his extensive litigation experience to bring a cordial, efficient, and forthright approach to the legal profession. JP’s practical approach earned recognition from his peers, including selection as a Top 50 “Fast Track” attorney from The Recorder magazine in 2012 and as a “Rising Star” from Super Lawyers magazine from 2012 through 2019.
JP was born in L.A. and graduated from the U.C. San Diego, where he majored in political science and public law, and minored in management science. JP attended Pepperdine University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. While in law school, JP earned a full-ride scholarship based on academic excellence, was an associate editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, and a member of the Order of the Coif.
JP’s free time is spent with his gregarious young daughter, wife, and cats.
