Barry A. Bradley, Esq., Managing Partner at Bradley, Gmelich & Wellerstein LLP – recognized in the Southern California “Super Lawyers” category for 15+ consecutive years!
Mr. Bradley is the firm’s Managing Partner. Prior to founding the firm with Tom Gmelich, he served as a Deputy District Attorney for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Hardcore Gang Prosecution Division, where he had over thirty jury trials (including numerous murder trials), and countless bench trials and preliminary hearings. For nearly three decades Mr. Bradley has applied his law enforcement background with marked effectiveness to civil litigation and trials, representing the private security and business industries, both in the courts and in administrative proceedings. Mr. Bradley serves as general corporate counsel to numerous businesses throughout the State, and helps navigate his clients through licensing issues with the State security licensing entity. He also supervises the firm’s attorneys in the litigation of their cases and in providing legal advice to the firm’s clients.
Thomas P. Gmelich, Esq., Partner at Bradley, Gmelich & Wellerstein LLP – recognized in the Southern California “Super Lawyers” category for 15 consecutive years!
Mr. Gmelich is one of the firm’s founding partners and has over 25 years of litigation experience. Mr. Gmelich’s practice focuses on the defense of catastrophic injury cases, general civil liability litigation, personal/commercial auto, private security guard litigation, recreational sports injury litigation, insurance fraud litigation, complex business litigation, construction defect, and maritime and cargo loss. He has successfully defended claims against a wide variety of clients, including retail and restaurant owners, commercial building owners / property management companies, fitness clubs, all construction trades, product manufacturers, private security companies, and transportation companies, including ocean, rail, and air carriers.
Dawn Cushman, Esq., Special Counsel at Bradley, Gmelich & Wellerstein LLP – recognized in the Southern California “Super Lawyers” category for 10+ consecutive years!
Ms. Cushman is a Certified Specialist in Appellate Law. Prior to joining the firm she achieved a broad background of civil and criminal experience, including jury trials, court trials, and appeals in a variety of litigation areas, and submitted over 80 appellate briefs in both state and federal appellate courts, resulting in over 10 published appellate court decisions. For nearly four decades, Ms. Cushman has utilized her broad background to provide representation and legal advice for insurance companies, employers engaged in the hospitality industry, small businesses, construction companies, hospitals, physicians, and nurses both in civil litigation as well as administrative hearings.
Mellania E. Safarian, Esq., Associate at Bradley, Gmelich & Wellerstein LLP – recognized in the San Diego “Rising Stars” category for 2 consecutive years!
Ms. Safarian is an experienced litigator whose practice primarily focuses on the defense of individuals and companies in a variety of insurance defense related matters, including product liability actions involving pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and auto manufacturers. While in law school, Ms. Safarian earned multiple honors including the Order of Barristers and several CALI awards. In addition to her extensive moot court experience, Ms. Safarian was also a judicial extern to the Honorable Larry A. Burns for the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California.
